Isolation Valves, Micro Pumps, Pinch Valves

Saving Lives with Solenoids

We were founded in 1983 as Bio-Chem Valve Corp. and sold simple pinch and isolation valves. Since then we have built a full line of solenoid products that have a history of impacting and improving the global medical device market.

Our Isolation Valves improved the speed of the DNA Sequencing machine used in the Human Genome Project (HGP), contributing to the project being completed two years ahead of schedule. Hailed as one of the great feats of exploration, HGP was an international research effort which had the goal of sequencing and mapping the human genome. According to the National Institutes of Health, HGP research has fueled the discovery of more than 1800 disease genes to date. Bio-Chem is proud to have been a part to such an impactful and life-saving scientific endeavor.

A number of world-class blood analysis devices used our Pinch Valves to detect and treat SARS during the 2003 outbreak of the disease and continue to use our valves in their in vitro diagnostic (IVD) instruments on the market today. Our pinch valves are also a trusted and essential part of the kidney transplant process, keeping the organ safe and healthy during the transportation from donor to recipient.

Our solenoid-powered Micro Pumps have impacted every-day life in two surprising ways. They have been chosen to aid in the detection and analysis of Anthrax and other bio hazards in mail sorting facilities, giving us peace of mind that our mail is safe to open and read. They are also used to aid in hatchery immunizations, of which over 15 billion occur every year. We are proud to know that we play this small part in keeping our food safe to eat.

Our solenoid products continue being chosen by top medical device manufacturers due to their long-established reputation for quality, reliability and simple implementation.  Engineers have lots of difficult decisions to make when designing an instrument, but solenoid products from Bio-Chem Fluidics are the obvious choice.
